Thank you for your interest in IHCNO, and for your passion for home-based nursing practice. I appreciate this opportunity to share our progress and the opportunities for you to expand your leadership with us.

Introducing the New Corresponding Secretary

Olga F. Jarrín Montaner, PhD, RN, FAAN is a tenured associate professor in the School of Nursing at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey (USA). From 2001-2010, Olga worked as a home health aide, home health nurse intern, visiting nurse/case manager, and clinical instructor in home health care while completing her nursing education (BS, MS, PhD) at the University of Connecticut. She then completed postdoctoral fellowships at the University of Pennsylvania in gerontological nursing and nursing outcomes research.

The International Home Care Nurses Organization offers sincere congratulations to Yuting Xia (Primary Investigator, pictured) and Shanshan Wang and Janelle Yorke, and Yuqian Luo as the recipients of the 2025 Marilyn D. Harris Research Grant for their study, Non-pharmacological interventions to improve the sleep disturbances of people with subjective cognitive decline: A protocol of systematic review and meta-analysis.

Dr. Jingjing Shang (pictured), Professor of Nursing, Columbia University, gave the Keynote Lecture “Advancing Home Healthcare: The Impact of Predictive Risk Models on Infection Prevention, Quality of Care, and Clinician Perspectives” at the Home Healthcare, Hospice, and Information Technology (H3IT) Conference on 19 October 2024 in Tampa, Florida, USA.

Advocacy Committee Chair, Patricia Grimes

IHCNO’s Advocacy Committee is currently comprised of five IHCNO members from the USA. Our purpose is to promote the specialty and professional image of home-based nursing. Advocate (the noun): one who defends or maintains a cause or proposal, one who supports or promotes the interests of a cause or group, and/or one who pleads the cause of another. Advocacy is the cornerstone of home-based nursing. We advocate for those we serve every day.

Dr. Feng-Ping Sarah Lee is a member of the Advocacy Committee.

Feng-Ping Sarah Lee serves as an associate professor at the School of Nursing at the University of the Pacific. She earned her PhD in Nursing from the University of Washington and a Master of Science in Nursing with a focus on adult gerontology acute care from the University of Pennsylvania.
