OUR HISTORY

  • March 2009 – Tina Marrelli, former editor of Home Healthcare Now, shared her hope for a “home care nurse-focused organization” in the journal. For more information, see Tina’s editorial: Marrelli, T. (2009). The interdisciplinary team, a free resource and a survey to complete about the International Home Care Nurses Organization (IHCNO). Home Healthcare Now, 27(3) 138-139.

  • October 2009 – Tina Marrelli collaborated with Elizabeth Madigan, IHCNO leaders, reporting on the survey in which home health nurses communicated their hopes for IHCNO which was envisioned as a global “platform” for home health nurses to communicate and network. Update about the International Nurses Organization – A functional home care nurse-focused “meeting place.” Home Healthcare Now, 27(9), 513.

  • May 2011 – April 2012 – Planning committee development and global outreach.

  • June 2013 – Inaugural Conference – Co-hosted with Case-Western University, Cleveland, OH/USA

  • September, 2014 – 2nd Conference – Co-hosted with Tsao Foundation, Singapore

  • July 2015 – 3rd IHCNO Conference – Co-hosted with University of Illinois, Chicago, IL, USA

  • 2015 – 2017 – Outreach, Development and Corporate Structure

    • International Guidelines for Home Health Nursing developed

    • Incorporation and 501 (c)(3) US status achieved. Board of Directors formed.

  • 2017 – Webinar: International Guidelines Home Health Nursing, Co-hosted with LaSalle University, US

  • 2018 – Webinar: Global Issues in Medication Management: Implications for Nurses, Co-hosted with Fairfield University, US

  • 2019 – Webinar: Medication Management: Implications for Nurses, Co-hosted with VNAA/US

  • 2019 – Webinar: Home Care Across the Global Village, Nurses Connect to Support Patients, Policy Series. Co-hosted with VNAA/US.

  • 2020 – 1 st Research Grant to Werayuth Srithumsuk, DSN, RN, Thailand IHCNO became a Supportive Association of The DAISY Foundation-The DAISY Award.

  • 2021 – 2 nd Research Grant to Dr. Cassandra Godzik-Dziobek, RN, USA.
